Original Count

I tracked down the original Moxa Kill Count Chart.  This was probably around 2003?  This chart was started mid-summer, well after the killing began.

Gus-Gus = really fat mice
Stewart Little = normal mice
Other = rabbits, birds, squirrels, etc...

As you can see, I quickly ran out of room on Stuart Littles.  I probably would have on the Gus-Gus too but I think Moxa killed most of those before I started keeping track. The following year, I went to a new method of recording where the mouse outlines were much smaller...and then the bigger outline was equal to 5 mice.  Unfortunately, that chart is lost to time.  After a couple years the mouse population throughout the entire neighborhood was completely exterminated for several years.

Kill Count

I have a cat.  Her name is Moxa...she is around 15 years old and her front paws are declawed (not my doing).  By that write up, she sounds like a cat that would do nothing but sleep in the sun all day...not Moxa.  Moxa is a KILLER.  She lives for the hunt.  She might not decimate the local rodent population like she did 5-10 years ago, but she is still holding her own.  In her honor, I am introducing a kill count graphic on the side bar.  This is only confirmed kills...kills that I witness firsthand, or kills that she gifts to me (nothing says love like a dead mouse at the foot of your bed in the morning).  Moxa started off the year slow...so I wasn't keeping track.  She has picked up speed lately.  By the outlines on the count graphic shown below (but normally in the sidebar) you can see that she has killed two mice and one rabbit...not too bad for less than a week.
